SERVICES DETAILS

- Please provide at least a TWO DAY NOTICE if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Appointments that are canceled or rescheduled with one day notice or less will be charged a $65 fee. Our groomers depend on this income and it can often be difficult to replace last-minute changes.

- Waiting fee is $15 per 15 minutes. We send out a two-hour estimated arrival time window two days before your appointment. If our groomers are waiting more than 15 minutes for you during drop-off or pickup, we will charge this fee.

- "Show up fee": If our groomers are unable to start or finish grooming your pet (due to aggression, anxiety, or other reasons), we will only charge you for the travel fee and any type of services or time we've spent with your pet. This charge will also be implemented for no shows.

- "Backtrack fee": If your groomer has arrived at your location at the original (and confirmed) ETA and you are not available, your groomer may leave and go to some of the other appointments and then come back to your location. This is not always possible (depending on routing and the schedule that day). If you are available later and your groomer does need to backtrack, we will charge this fee to cover time and travel.

- "ETA rescheduling fee": Your ETA is sent out two days before your appointment. If your time has already been sent out and it needs to be changed, we will charge this $15 fee. Routing is very important to the efficiency of our business. Moving appointment times around after the times have been sent out can impact our van's mileage, gas costs, and groomer's time. You can always let us know ahead of time if you have a conflict and we will do our best to schedule accordingly.

- For the safety of your pet(s) and our groomers, we have a 75-pound weight limit for grooming dogs (ex: doodles, airedales) and a 100-pound weight limit for bath/blow outs or baths (ex: goldens, labs)

- "Bath only" and "bath/blow out" appointments do not include a haircut.
- Blueberry facial: Relaxing head massage with blueberry shampoo soak to help with tear stains and coat brightening
- Flea bath, flea treatment, and deskunking costs are in addition to the price of a grooming/bathing appointment.
- Deskunking: We cannot guarantee a complete removal of the skunk smell (success of service depends on how recent the skunking occurred, if the dog got wet in the meantime, etc.). Our groomer will use a non-scented charcoal shampoo.
- WE DO NOT OFFER DEMATTING SERVICES. Brushing out matts is painful for your dog and time consuming for our groomers. If your dog is matted, the matting fee will be applied. Your groomer will recommend a shave down. We can spot shave if you'd prefer.
- Additional convenience fee: This is instituted if we normally do not service your area or if there's a last-minute location change (that is not close to your original address). This will be discussed when you contact us to schedule (if applicable).

ADDITIONAL SCHEDULING POLICIES

Thank you for choosing K9 Suds-N-Scissors for your pet’s grooming needs!

PRICING
Our pricing varies based on the thickness and condition of your pet's coat and the temperament of your pet. Pricing is based on a regular 6-8 week schedule. Please understand that any longer between grooming can cause undercoat build up and/or matting and will require additional time to perform the groom, which may increase the price.

APPOINTMENT TIMES
Our grooming appointments are typically between 8:00-5:00, 7 days a week. Our office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00-4:00.

We have reserved a block of time to service and groom your pet. If you have a timing conflict between 8:00-5:00, please let us know when you schedule the appointment (or as soon as possible) so we can adjust our schedule for you.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know as soon as possible (we require at least 24 hours' notice to avoid a $65 cancelation fee). We have a $65 same-day cancelation fee. If we drive to you and you are not home, we will charge a $65 no-show fee. We understand emergencies come up and life happens but our groomers also depend on the income of this scheduled appointment.

Our arrival time that has been scheduled for you includes a 2 hour arrival window (example – appointment time of 12:00 means we will arrive sometime BETWEEN 12:00 and 2:00). Since we are a mobile service, this window is to account for traffic, refueling, earlier appointment taking additional time, etc. Our groomer will contact you when they are on their way. Please let your pet out to potty BEFORE we get there.

We give a 15 minute grace period for appointments. If your groomer has arrived at your location and has been waiting 15 minutes with no response from you, they will head to their next stop and charge a $65 no-show fee. They have other appointments on their schedule and need to respect those customer’s times as well. You also have the option to pay a waiting fee of $15 and your groomer will wait an additional 15 minutes for you. If you are not available at your original ETA and you are available later in the day, your groomer will charge a "backtrack" fee, to cover time and travel for having to drive back to your location.

APPOINTMENT POLICIES
When our groomer arrives, they will go over your pet with you and discuss desired styles and special needs. Please let them know if there is anything you do/do not like (cologne, tails cut, ears left long, etc) and if there are any health issues or aggression/cooperation problems we need to be aware of. Please specify if your pet has any skin problems and if we need to use any type of specialized shampoo.

Your satisfaction is important to us. If you are unhappy for any reason, SPEAK UP! We’re in business to serve you and get your pet looking great. If you would like something touched up or adjusted, we will be happy to do it. Just let us know when we return your pet to you.

If your pet experiences any type of reaction to a shampoo or clipper irritation, we need to be notified immediately so that we can discuss options to remedy and prevent this in the future. Not contacting us and letting us know will not make it go away and is unfair to your dog and our service!!

Please do not interrupt the grooming process by looking through windows or knocking on the door. This makes your dog overly excited and makes the grooming process extremely difficult or even unsafe.

VAN POLICIES
We require a flat parking space (ideally in or near your driveway) that is big enough for our vans. Any parking fees are your responsibility.

Unfortunately our grooming vans are mechanical things and they sometimes break down. In the event of a breakdown, we will let you know we need to cancel as soon as possible and reschedule you as soon as it is back up and running.

The weather can also be an issue. If we feel it is unsafe to send our groomers out in the weather or we need to bring them back in early, we will make every effort to reschedule you as soon as we can come out safely. We appreciate your understanding and patience in regards to these scheduling issues.

CURRENT VACCINATIONS/VETERINARY INFORMATION
Your pet’s safety is first at K9 Suds-N-Scissors. We require a current rabies vaccination expiration date before any grooming services will be performed. Proof of rabies vaccination shall be provided to K9 Suds-N-Scissors upon request, as well as current veterinarian information.

PAYMENT INFORMATION
Payment is due at time of service. K9 Suds-N-Scissors accepts cash, check, card, Venmo, and Zelle. All credit card/debit card charges are subject to a 3.8% fee (as of 1/15/24). No further service will be provided until all charges and fees are paid. Late payments will have a 10% fee added per week. Tipping is always appreciated by our groomers.

SAFETY
K9 Suds-N-Scissors reserves the right to refuse any pet if we feel it compromises the safety of your dog or our groomer. Aggressive dogs or dogs who will not get into the van will be refused and charged $65 minimum for the trip to your home (along with an additional fee for any work the groomer was able to complete, if applicable). We will attempt to use a muzzle if needed. For everyone’s safety, your dog needs to be able to stand on their own for the entire groom.

DOODLES AND POODLES

For doodles and poodles specifically, our standard haircut is a 1-inch clipper cut. If you'd like the coat to be kept longer (assuming there's no matting, in which case, the coat may have to be taken shorter), there will be a hand scissoring fee added ($75/hour on top of the grooming price). Please speak to your groomer if you have any questions or would like to discuss your options.

FLEAS
If a flea is found on your pet, K9 Suds-N-Scissors will administer a flea shampoo ($65, in addition to the cost of the groom) to eradicate the fleas in order to maintain salon sanitation. Additionally, please be aware that any such treatments are not guaranteed to be 100% effective.

MATTED COAT
We do not offer de-matting services. Excessive de-matting is a painful, time-consuming and costly procedure that causes extreme discomfort and can aggravate or cause skin problems.

It is at K9 Suds-N-Scissors’ discretion to determine if it is safe for the pet to be shaved down (additional fee). Shaving your pet may dramatically change your pet’s appearance and the hair will be very close to the skin. This may expose pre-existing skin conditions. Removing a heavily matted coat includes the risk of nicks, cuts and/or abrasions due to moles, warts or skin folds trapped in the mats.

Closely shaved pets are also prone to sunburn & should either have sunscreen applied daily or should be kept out of the sun until the hair grows sufficiently to protect the skin.

In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. In certain breeds & coat types, the coat may not grow back the same.

DOUBLE COAT SHAVE DOWN
Shaving the coat does not necessarily make the dog feel cooler, as the double coat acts as insulation in warm and cool weather. Shaving does not reduce shedding; it only makes the shedding coat shorter. Clipping down a double-coated dog can look uneven or choppy depending on your dog's coat type and the length requested. We will do our best to make the haircut look the best possible.

If you are requesting to have your double-coated dog shaved down (additional fee), you understand and agree to the following warnings. We cannot guarantee that the dog's coat will grow back after shaving. Depending on how close the coat is clipped, your dog might require sunscreen to protect the dog's skin from sunburn. Shaving may cause irritation and/or rash.

SENIOR DOGS
Grooming procedures sometimes can be stressful, especially for a senior pet or a pet with health problems. Because senior pets and pets with health problems have a greater chance of injury, these pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, in styles that will not add to their stress.

Client consents that K9 Suds-N-Scissors may take pictures of your pet, before and after grooming, and utilize the same for their website, social media for any and all and/or advertising purposes at K9 Suds-N-Scissors’ discretion.
